A business mailbox places sender identity on a domain the company controls, supporting brand recognition, administration and email authentication. It does not automatically improve Shopify account approval or replace truthful entity documents. This guide compares services and domain setup.
Building a Shopify store can use a compliant personal or business mailbox. A custom-domain address makes brand identity and role accounts such as support@ or orders@ easier to manage, but it is not a universal signup requirement.

What is a business email?
A business email is an email service a company buys and issues to its staff, tied to the company's domain.
For example, haiwaibiji.com is this site's domain, so you could reach me at nolan@haiwaibiji.com. Business email comes with professional features: security, admin tools (user management, bulk sending), storage and backups.
Is there a free business email?
A custom-domain mailbox normally requires ownership of the domain. Some providers may offer limited free tiers depending on current region and policy.
Business plans mainly add domain identity, user administration, logs, archiving and security controls; they do not outperform personal accounts on every dimension by definition.
Capacity, sending limits, and administration vary by provider and plan. Business email mainly adds domain identity, handover, permissions, logs, archiving, and authentication controls. Email marketing also requires recipient permission, unsubscribe handling, sending reputation, and an appropriate marketing system; a business mailbox alone is not a bulk-mail license.

Choosing a provider
Tencent Exmail, Alibaba Mail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho can all be candidates. Compare them using target-market delivery tests, administration, data region, compliance, support and migration cost.
Server location alone cannot prove that international mail will be screened or undeliverable. Send permission-based tests to Gmail, Outlook and representative customer domains; inspect SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounces and spam placement, and monitor domain reputation.
Delivery affects the business, but “domestic versus international” is not a sufficient selection rule. Build a shortlist, then decide from price, administration, compliance, data region, support, migration, and actual delivery tests.

Dimension 1: total cost
Even at the start, the lowest monthly fee is not automatically best. Calculate annual users, storage, archiving, backup, migration, and support.

Zoho was less expensive in the author's historical comparison, but the capacity and prices in the screenshot are not a 2026 quote. Put users, storage, archiving, mobile access, support and migration cost in one table, then update every number from the provider's current page.
Dimension 2: security and compliance
Lower price does not establish security or compliance. Review the provider's current security documentation, certifications, incident process, admin controls and contractual data terms against your requirements.
The functionality covers the essentials and the interface is simple — no different from daily email.
Dimension 3: support and response
Support language, time zone, and channels affect troubleshooting, but one historical wait does not represent every provider or plan. Test presales response and confirm emergency account recovery, domain verification, and data-export routes before purchase.
