Shopify Branding Colorways

Start by defining your brand's primary, secondary and accent colors. No more than three colors are recommended for simplicity and consistency. If you want to be specific, the background color can count as a color; most people default to white.

You can check your colors by following this list below.

  • Brand Primary Colors:Used in most major scenarios to make people remember you instantly, for example shopify is green, Facebook is blue, as soon as I say it, it comes to your mind, this is the brand color.
  • Secondary Colors:Generally used in buttons, borders, etc. to make visual distinctions.
  • Emphasize the color:Bolded fonts, and warnings are needed for these times.

Note that for color consistency, it is recommended to enter the HEX code for the color directly (e.g. #FF5733) rather than selecting it manually. And document all the codes into one of your standalone station building documents.

There are many plugins inside Shopify that can't share the same color scheme with shopify, so often you'll need to re-enter these global color schemes in the plugin. Keeping track of this is easy to forget and reapply later.

Finally, it's word to do a real-time preview of how the colors will be applied on shopify to make sure the elements are coordinated with each other. If necessary, make adjustments at any time.

How to Configure

The default template Dawn theme under the editing method is as follows, you can refer to the right picture to choose to edit:

  1. On the shopify homepage, look at the left sidebar and open "Templates" under "Sales Channels";
  2. Under the current template, click the "Customize" button to enter the editing mode.
  3. After entering edit mode, look at the left sidebar, find the "Settings" button, as shown in the right picture, click "Color", you can see the global color scheme.
